Growing up in a creative home filled with music, gardening, floral arrangement, and design, I have always been drawn to expressing myself through various artistic mediums. From a young age, I explored my creativity through needlework, photography, and design, taking classes through the High Point Arts Council. In high school, I further honed my design skills as the co-editor of the Yearbook, and I even found joy in refinishing furniture projects.

After completing my degree in Business Administration at High Point College, I ventured into the furniture industry, working at Market Square. Prior to attending design school, I managed the F Schumacher & Co showroom at Market Square, where I gained valuable experience in the world of interior design. I then pursued an Associate Degree in Interior Design at Randolph Technical in Asheboro, where I fine-tuned my skills in perspective, color, shadow, and light. Additionally, I completed a course on Faux Painting, expanding my repertoire of techniques.

Throughout my career, I have worked as a staging designer buyer for Thomasville Furniture while living in Dallas, Texas. In 1994, I made the decision to move to Hilton Head Island with my family, where I started a remodeling company with my husband. I utilized my skills to consult with remodeling clients and help them transform their spaces into expressions of themselves. As a Realtor, I now assist my clients in staging, purging, and updating properties, providing them with guidance on how to enhance their spaces for maximum appeal.

In my personal artistic pursuits, I have been a member of the Society of Bluffton Artists since 2021, engaging in continual learning through classes. Additionally, I engage in continuous self-study, always seeking to expand my knowledge and skill set. I use my painting skills not only for traditional artwork but also for making repairs to fish taxidermy and various remodeling projects, employing faux finishing methods.

When it comes to my artistic style, I typically work with acrylics and oil on canvas, watercolor, or pastels on paper. My inspiration stems from nature, and the life in the Lowcountry has been a significant influence on my work. Creating art is my passion and my therapy, providing me with a sense of peace and fulfillment. I specialize in capturing vibrant colors, playing with various tints, shades, and light and shading techniques. My preferred subjects include dogs, landscapes, Lowcountry scenes, florals, architecture, and I also undertake commissioned paintings upon request.

With a diverse background and a deep love for the arts, I bring a unique blend of creativity, expertise, and a keen eye for design to every project I undertake.
